Special Guest announced for 90th Celebration
March 28th, 2011 by
Bill Nottle has agreed to come up from California to be our special guest over the 90th weekend (April 15-17). We’re very excited to have Bill. He had tremendous impact on the camp and on the lives of campers and staff over the 10 years he was the Commanding Officer in Spokane.
If you haven’t already made plans to come out for the 90th do it today! Print out a registration form for the weekend or for the day on Saturday on the 90th Anniversary page (under the “Events” tab). I hope you can make it out.

You can click on this link “Spokesman-Review Camp Gifford Article” to read a sweet article about Camp Gifford’s 90th anniversary. It was be awesome if you write a note to Rebecca Nappi at the Spokesman-Review to let her know you appreciate the article (it never hurts to be nice to the media)
Hopefully you’ve already made plans to attend Camp’s 90th anniversary. If not – do it today!
90th anniversary coming soon!

You may have heard we are getting ready to celebrate 90 years at Camp Gifford. Take a look at the recent article in the Spokesman-Review at: http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2011/mar/12/c-memories/
I hope you can make it out at least for the day on Saturday, April 16th if not for the whole weekend. But, if you are unable to make it out, and you have been to camp as a camper or staff member – tell us your story! We want to know how camp affected your life. How did it help you to become the person you are? How did God use the people here to shape you and help you? How did God use you to help and shape others? Tell us all about it!
Do you have pictures of the camp from when you were here? We especially need pictures from 1995 and before. Scan them to us or send them to us and we’ll scan them and send them back.
Come celebrate with us on the 90th. And contact all your camp friends so you can see them there. God bless!
Read a good book lately?

So I’ve been reading “Pilgrim’s Progress” by Bunyan again. What an awesome allegory of our walk through this world. If you haven’t read it, or if you haven’t read it recently, you should pick it up and spend some time in it. The visual images that it creates in my mind as I read it are fantastic. And the way it clearly relates to my Christian walk is so helpful to me. What good books have you been reading lately?

Things are progressing quickly toward the Great and Amazing 90th Anniversary Celebration on April 16th! I’m sure you are all planning to come. The main event will take place on the 16th from about 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. - however, you are welcome to come for the whole weekend of April 15-17, 2011. There will be campfires, skits, s’mores, singing, dancing, eating, playing, worshiping… lot’s of fun. Letters have just gone out to the staff and volunteers from the last 16 years. Many of you have moved and some of you have changed your names (for some of you I can understand that…). If you don’t get your invitation in the mail it’s probably because we don’t have your current address. So you should send it to us. If you live in the same place you did when you worked here you shouldn’t need to (but if that was 15 years ago you may need to get a life!). Register now! Leave this page and click on the 90th link under the “About Camp Gifford” tab. Go… do it… sign up…
